I finished it yesterday, but the third book was soooo good 🥺 Tartah had an arc where Coco and him had to brainstorm creative ways to accommodate his color blindness with magic in a high stakes situation. Ugh, the way the manga is printed in black and white so we as readers are put at his level was a really fascinating effect of the medium...

It was nice to see a disabled SIDE CHARACTER get an entire portion of the book to self actualize and realize yeah, I do want to study magic because my disability is not something I should be ashamed of, rather it allows me to see things in a different perspective than my peers and I bring something unique to the table because of it. So much care is put into making everyone in this world feel like people with complex internal lives of their own and not just set dressing for Coco, it's very inspiring.
