The Question

So with this comic, the aim was to highlight Zach's passive suicidality and Lucas's guilt.

Re-posting the rest of these thoughts from Tumblr, but I do enjoy how Lucas's use of contractions is a solid indication of the progression of his and Zach's relationship. Observant chapter 1 readers will have noticed that before he was taught how to read, he didn't use them.

He uses them in this sketch comic, meaning this takes place during a time when Zach and his relationship was considerably closer and I think it would have to be for them to have conversations like that.
